What Signature is
HubSpot’s signature builder is a single-purpose page rather than a product you sign up for. You enter your name, job title, company, email and phone, upload a logo or headshot, choose one of twelve templates, adjust brand colours and type, and generate HTML. The output is copied and pasted into Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail or HubSpot’s own CRM; the page claims validated, cross-client HTML that holds up on mobile clients. There is no import step, so an existing signature cannot be edited here: you rebuild it field by field. Social icons, a booking link, a company address and a handwritten signature drawn or set in a script font can all be added. Everything runs in the browser and nothing is installed. Because the HTML is self-contained, the practical risk is image hosting: logos served from a shared cloud drive often fail to render for recipients, so host them somewhere stable.
Best for
- One person who needs a clean signature in the next ten minutes
- Small teams standardising on the same template and brand colours
- Gmail and Outlook users who will paste HTML but not write it
Not ideal for
- Rolling out signatures to hundreds of mailboxes from directory fields
- Anyone who needs to import and edit an existing signature
Pros
- No account, no card, and no watermark on the output
- Real HTML export, so the signature survives switching clients
- Twelve templates and colour choices cover most small businesses
Cons
- HTML export only: no image or PDF version of the signature
- Every field is typed by hand, with no directory lookup
- Image hosting is on you, and third-party drives break rendering
Pricing in detail
The generator is free and does not ask for an account, a card or an email address. HubSpot uses it as a lead magnet for its CRM, but the signature itself is not gated: templates, logo upload, colour and font choices and HTML export are all included. The paid side of HubSpot, the CRM and marketing suite, is a separate subscription and only matters if you want signatures managed centrally or pulled from contact records.
