Editorial Policy
AI Bookmarks is a directory of AI tools. Everything here follows the same written process, so you can judge a listing on the evidence rather than on how it was submitted.
How tools are selected
A tool is added when it meets three conditions. It is publicly available, so a reader can use it today rather than at some future launch. It does something a real job needs, rather than being a demo of a model. And it has enough public information — a website, documentation, or a changelog — for us to describe what it does without guessing.
We do not list tools that have no public pricing information, tools that have shut down, or announcements that are not yet products.
What we check before publishing
Every listing is reviewed against the same checklist:
- What it does. A plain description of the capability, without marketing language.
- Who it is for. The job the tool actually fits, and the jobs it does not.
- Pricing model. Free, freemium or paid — recorded so you can filter by it.
- Provider. The organisation that publishes the tool, stated as it appears on their own site.
- Last review date. Shown on the listing, so you can see how current it is.
What we do not claim
We do not publish a numerical score for a tool unless we have tested it ourselves against stated criteria, and we do not invent fields such as award counts or employee numbers to fill out a schema.
Where a description is based on a vendor's own published material rather than our own testing, we say so. Where something is unknown — a launch date we cannot confirm, for example — we leave the field empty instead of estimating it.
How often listings are updated
We revisit listings on a rolling basis and record the date of each review. When a product changes materially — a pricing overhaul, a shutdown, a change of owner — we update the listing and its date. The date on a listing is the date of the last review, not the date it was first published.
How we make money
Running this site costs money, and the ways we cover it are listed here in full:
- Advertising. Display advertising, where it appears, is labelled as advertising.
- Sponsored placement. A tool can pay for a marked promotional position. Paid placement is always labelled, and it does not affect whether a tool is listed, how it is described, or where it appears in an editorial ranking.
- Affiliate links. Some links to vendor websites may earn us a commission. This never changes what we write about a tool.
What we will not do: accept payment for a positive review, remove a documented limitation because the vendor asked, or publish a claim we cannot point to a source for.
How to report an error
If a listing is wrong — an outdated price, a tool that has changed hands, a description that no longer matches the product — email us at {contact}. Tell us which page and what is wrong. Corrections are made by a person, and the page's review date is updated when we change it.
Corrections log
When we materially change a listing after publication, the change is reflected in the review date shown on that listing. We do not quietly rewrite a review to reverse its conclusion.
